In this course, you will gain an understanding of how chronic pain works in the body and mind so you can help your students who suffer from chronic pain. These concepts can be applied across a full range of chronic injuries and illnesses. You will first learn about some common misconceptions about pain. Then we will explore how pain works in our nervous system and brain and what causes pain to become chronic. You will see why those with chronic pain require a different level of care than those who suffer from acute issues. We will look at common mental and emotional patterns that make people more prone to chronic pain and how to tackle these issues on a physical level to make a holistic impact on your students' lives.
